Which HDR workflow fits the job?

Automatic merging is not better than every alternative. It is faster for listing volume. Manual tools still win when you need complete control of a single hero frame.

Is Lightroom required to use HDRPhoto Studio?

No. HDRPhoto runs in the browser. You can upload JPEGs from the camera or from an existing catalogue. Lightroom is not required for merging, review or download.

HDRPhoto versus manual Lightroom editing

Lightroom’s HDR merge is capable and familiar. It is also slow when you have thirty rooms. HDRPhoto is the better fit when the brief is a consistent listing set. Lightroom remains the better fit when you want to grade one kitchen for a print or a homepage hero.

HDRPhoto versus Photoshop blending

Photoshop still offers the finest mask control. That matters for glass, mirrors and unusual architecture. It is rarely the economical way to finish a three-bed terrace. Use Photoshop for the exceptions; use an automatic merge for the rest.

Automated HDR versus outsourced editing

A good retoucher will beat any automatic path on a difficult frame. Outsourcing also adds turnaround time and a briefing overhead. Automatic processing is usually the better choice when you need the same-day set and can accept a review-and-replace step for the odd room.

Bracketed HDR versus single-image enhancement

A single frame cannot recover a window that was recorded as white. Enhancement can lift shadows and correct colour, which is useful when you only have one file. Brackets remain the reliable way to keep the view.

HDRPhoto versus general AI image enhancers

Consumer enhancers are not built around EXIF stacking, listing folders or a shared property-media credit balance. They may look punchy and still fail on windows. HDRPhoto is narrower on purpose: property photographs, brackets or singles, then a review before download.
